The haircut looked great for a few hours so that was good, the service was good, and I was able to get an appointment very last minute which was great, with a discount, just a few hours before. The finished style was nice as I left the salon.
however, it wasn't particularly relaxing to have the feel of fake acrylic nails through my scalp.
Second, the stylist didn't use any products or heat protection on my hair so it feels quite dry the day after, not at all glossy and fresh like you usually expect after a hair cut, and it was brushed whilst wet and I could feel my hair being yanked as the tangles were ripped out. (It wasn't particularly tangled as I had brushed it earlier)
I wasn't offered a drink, or any magazines and the salon was understaffed as the stylist left me several times to answer the phone with no apology, she also left me standing awkwardly in the shop without offering me a seat mid-way to the chair.
I went to the sister salon through a recommendation from a friend and I like to support local businesses but it definitely wasn't a premium service for what I'd expect for the price.
I think next time I'll go to my local salon closet to home, also an independent salon for the same price and a much better experience.
Overall, the haircut was fine, but the customer experience was pretty poor, having worked in retail and customer service for 4 years I was a bit disappointed at the lack of basic care.
