I had the most wonderful experience at The Retreat. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The massage was perfect working on all the knots in my back, but gentle and relaxing at the same time. The manicure was absolutely excellent with a good range of colours to choose from. I would highly recommend this place without any hesitation.
A well located venue in the centre of London. Staff were friendly and professional and provided good treatments. The massage in particular was very good, gentle when it could be but effective when working out the knots. Manicure looked nice after it was done but sadly didnt last that long...possibly due to the quality of the polish.

The massage was amazing- I was in a daze for a while afterwards. I had been very stressed and Hannah just seemed to melt away all my stress ready for the weekend.
I am incredibly impressed with my manicure- the nail colour (RED!) is still on and hasn't chipped. It's so glossy and I received so many compliments. I work with children and never has my nail colour lasted this long. Usually, it lasts me a day or two (even when I've been to a salon).

I bought a Wahanda voucher for a massage and manicure at The Retreat. In the past, I have been disappointed many times when purchasing voucher deals that I really had low expectations when I arrived. But the experience could not have been better. Jade (nail magician) and Hannah (massage goddess) at The Retreat simply blew me away. Jade's attention to detail is something I have yet to encounter at any other salon in London. She suggested colours for me (she uses lovely Essie polishes), and she inspired me to try something I *never* could have selected on my own. And the colour was beautiful! (I initially selected a polish that was a bit gunky/old, and when she opened the bottle and saw that the polish had seen better days, Jade simply threw it away. She clearly cares a lot about product quality -- not something I have ever seen in another salon.) Jade also shaped my nails perfectly and took gentle care of my cuticles. I didn't need to tell her what to do. She just did her thing and everything came out perfectly, like she has some sort of sixth sense when it comes to nails. I realise this sounds over the top, but I honestly have never encountered a better nail tech. And on top of everything, my manicure did not chip for 10 days, and even then it was a tiny chip on the side of one nail. My nails still look great. I am really rough on my hands -- I usually destroy my manicure within a day -- so this is saying a lot.
For the massage, Hannah worked wonders. I work at a computer all day and have serious shoulder and upper back tightness. Hannad found the problem areas and worked them through. Hannah was also really responsive to my level of pain tolerance and adjusted her pressure accordingly. In past I have had experiences when massage therapists go too deep into the muscle and cause a lot of pain and do not adjust the pressure when I ask them to. Other times, the massage therapists are too gentle and it feels like they're just rubbing my back halfheartedly and waiting for the hour to finish. Not with Hannah. She really listened to me and have me a massage that was exactly what I needed. And she amazed me in her ability to work through painful muscle tension AND give a relaxing massage at the same time. The treatment room was also perfectly set up. Relaxing music, dim-enough lighting, very comfortable massage table.
The bottom line: Jade and Hannah are amazing and I will never go anywhere else in London for nails or massage. And not only are these ladies great at what they do, but they clearly love their work. It's clear instantly. Can't wait for my next visit!
