Bit of a mixed bag this time despite leaving a previously good review.... fantastic nail treatment. I got shellac with a soak off for £25. The finished look is very professional and a number of people have made positive comments about my lovely new nails. My leg wax was swift and uneventful, my high bikini could have gone "higher" (i'm a legs akimbo up in the air kinda gal, but unfortunately wasn't given the opportunity and I was a bit too shy to ask if she could get 'right in there'...). Unfortunately my arm wax left me red for 2 days, and with a thin layer of skin having been taken off... and now I look like i'm peeling.
I do want to address this - as I think the salon is well run, and the founder of the business who did my nails is a lovely and savvy business woman. But unfortunately Kate's treatment of my arms was incredibly uncomfortable. I can't explain it - i've been getting wax treatments in general for 20 years. I've had waxes done in premium salons in posh places by highly qualified professionals; and in some of the most random places in the world where they probably weren't all that qualified, including in some developing countries, including one particular salon (in Thailand) where the wax was applied by a metal knife can you believe. So I feel like I can objectively comment about a good or a bad wax. I have only ever had a few bad waxes thankfully in my life.
And i'm sorry to say it but I didn't feel overly comfortable having the arms waxed this time. I thought it was my skin being sensitive, or me just being a bit pathetic with the pain - after all it was only my 3rd arm wax ever in my life... but I probably wouldn't go back again for that treatment. I think too much wax was possibly applied by the roll on, there were a lot of small patches of wax still on my arm despite the wax strip being used on it a number of times. Kate didn't seem to be worried about it which was reassuring at the time but I did get that funny feeling one can get when you're not entirely sure if it's supposed to be happening that way. Anyway, I'll get over it - it's only a layer of skin. But it wasn't pleasant whilst it was happening and for 2 days my arms felt like they were burning. But I like Kate so I hate to leave a bad review.
Nails definitely 100% yes for a revisit and i'd recommend them for nails to others considering but with the waxing i'm reserving judgement for now despite the fantastic prices and offers I can't deny are highly competitive.
Eyebrow and upper lip wax was good. Nails were great - got extensions with shellac and some nail art too - loads of time and care taken - really happy with the end result
