I was booked in today to get my nails done and was incredibly disappointed. I've never left a bad review or felt so compelled to complain about a service as I do on this occasion.
I was booked in at 1pm and arrived promptly for my appointment, in a good mood. My god, how quickly that changed! I was seated with my nail technician, who was extremely rude. She asked me what I had on my nails (which I didn't know, as I'm not an expert! But having spoken to my regular nail lady, it was acrylic with gel polish). She insisted that there was no option but to soak off my nails (having spoken to my usual nail lady, this is INCORRECT, and i knew this at the time, but the technician was so pushy and intimidating that i didnt feel empowered to continue fighting my corner) and she made it very clear that she was annoyed that I hadn't realised this when I booked the appointment. She humiliated me in front of the whole salon, and made me feel like I was stupid for not knowing the products that were on my nail! I couldn't believe it. I even suggested that I was happy to go elsewhere, and in hindsight I WISH I had!
The quality of the job she did was fine. However when I got to the til she charged me 48ÂŁ. I've never been so shocked in my life. There is NO way that price can be justified. I get my hair done at a highly esteemed salon and I don't even pay that much for a hair cut.
I left the salon feeling humiliated, ripped off and so disappointed. The service I received was by no means worth the money I paid and it was apparent that the nail technician knew that, as she was very quick to defend the price When she saw my reaction.
At no point was I told that the price would be so steep. Had I been told (which I should have), I wouldn't have had the nails done. It was unethical, and I'm sure the nail technician who did the job would not have been happy paying that price either. I feel like I was tricked into parting with all my money.
On a final note, I feel that I need to mention that the technician opened a cut on my finger with her electric file, which bled quite abit. I'm extremely concerned that the file hadn't been sterilized. I work in hralthcare, and I come across incidents like this on a weekly basis. I'm aware of the risk of infection through tools such as this.

Third visit and staff do not recognise me yet. No warm welcome on arrival or offer of drink. No engaging conversation. Although cannot fault actual nails, just need to work on service that comes with it.
