I visited this salon last month to get the gel nail polish on my fingers and ended up getting my toes done as well. I was happy at that time. However I had a problem trying to get it off. I went to a local salon 2 weeks later to have my finger nail polish removed to be told that the hollywood nails had put an acrylic overlay on my nails and I could see this was making it difficult to come off with acetone, she suggested I grow it out and buff the nails every day. It looked like plastic on the nails, also the nails looked damaged. I asked why this would be and the lady informed me they sometimes put this on if you have weak nails to strengthen them(I have very strong nails)also I wasn’t asked about this. I returned to Hollywood Nails to have my toenail polish removed supposedly by soaking in acetone only to have the lady there go at my toenails with the electric filer! No soaking, I asked why this was and she said it was the best way to get it off. I said I had an acrylic overlay on my nails last time I was in and hadn’t asked for it previously and she made out that there was maybe a breakdown in communication, no apology, unlikely I said. More to do with the fact that I am not in a habit of getting gel nail polish and wasn’t aware that it could be so harsh on your nails. Especially if they put on different things to make it last and don’t ask if you want that on. I would just say to people to beware of some of these salons that are putting something on your nails and you are not aware of it. I have had an education on the different gel nail polishes and now realise the ones that are better for nails. I won’t be returning to this salon:
