Lovely salon. Took time to find out both what I needed today and in the future. Excellent cut and great additional advice about colour. Will definitely return.

I booked my appointment via Treatwell in the morning for 11:30am, only to be called by Hob informing me that I had been double booked and the next available appointment was at 2:30pm (even though there were more timings available when I was booking it on Treatwell). This was a major inconvenience for me but I still went because I have been to Hob many times and I’ve always been pleased with the results.
However, firstly, my treatment - the SP Alchemy Treatment was not what I expected especially for the price of £18. All they did was put some moose on my hair for 2 mins and wash it off. I had read online that you would be consulted about what kind of treatment your hair needs and the special mask would be applied and left on for a number of minutes under heat. This is not what happened. When I addressed it to the young lady doing it for me, she said this was what my hairdresser had told her to do and she didn’t have a clue.
I also paid for my hair to be dyed a chocolate brown, but instead it turned out to be jet black. I was deeply distressed as it is darker than my own natural hair colour and looks really bad. When I told the stylist that it was a lot darker than I expected and what we had talked about, all she said was that it will get lighter as I wash it.
My haircut and blow dry however was a better experience with a nice chatty gentleman who made me feel very relaxed and trimmed my hair well.
I paid £122 overall and I think this is not great value for money at all - I got a 2 minute treatment and the wrong hair colour. I also paid full price for a hair cut when all the gentleman did was trim the ends. I was not happy with how it went at all.
I have been visiting Hob on Baker Street over the last 2 years. I’ve had a number of their hairdressers over the years, juniors and style directors, and I’ve always been extremely happy with the service, cut & blow dry. Recently, I have been my hair done by Rok and he is amazing. I only ever get a tidy up but nevertheless he always gives it a lot of love & attention. He also gives a fantastic blow dry!
