Hiro's room is in the basement of the bright and modern Cobella spa on High Street Ken. His room is narrow but nicely lit and looked clean and welcoming on the day.
The massage bed was very comfortable but instead of a sheet, you lie on a towel. This is something I really noticed for some reason and I wondered whether it was clean as it's harder to mask dirt on a sheet than a towel. However, there were no bad smells or anything that gave me reason to believe that the towel was anything but clean.
Hiro has a wonderful, gentle manner that put me at ease straight away and I really enjoyed the foot massage and also the rest of the massage.
However, I have to be honest that I did not feel 100% comfortable all of the time. It may be that I am a little sensitive about being massaged by a man but there were several instances where I wondered whether everything was 100% professional. Examples are that Hiro would always place my legs wide apart from each other in a way that I have not experienced before. This may have been for alignment of my spine or a similar reason but since he was then able to see right up the towel / my crotch, I felt exposed and vulnerable.
Similarly, Hiro got up on the bed twice and massaged by back while hovering over me with his knees on either side of my body. He massaged my torso in a way that he was very close to my boobs and again, I wasn't sure I felt totally comfortable.
Finally, Hiro had my arms hanging off the table when I lay on my stomach and he massaged by back and would stand in a way that they were brushing against his legs / hips / crotch as he stood by my side to massage my back. This is not something I remember having experienced before and it felt a bit close for comfort.
And when he was massaging my upper chest, his tshirt was hanging into my face, so again, it felt like there was too much contact in a way that was extra to the massage.
I really don't know whether I interpreted too much into these instances as Hiro was lovely the entire way and did not actually do anything untoward. But I did feel less relaxed than I would have based on the quality of his fantastic massage because of these instances.
Hiro is definitely a very good massage therapist but I think it's important to be honest about an experience like this.

Superb skill-set of combination of shiatsu and Thai massage. If your body is needing a 'fix', this is the place to go to...
