Unfortunately, my last two visits here have left much to be desired. All I want is to be treated like everyone else and given the time and care that I am paying for. Alas, that is apparently simply something Hill Nails can’t provide everyone equally. Last week, my tech rushed through my manicure and then laughed at me when I asked him to fix something. This week, not only did a different tech rush me through my manicure, visibly impatient when I was getting settled and finishing up within 20 minutes, she was looking at her appointment book while doing it and did not give me her full attention. She was dismissive and unhelpful and afterwards, she rushed off to help a white client in a pedicure chair. On the subject of racial bias, I once saw a black woman be asked to wait an hour for service, with no offer to accommodate her or help her book something for another time. As an American of Asian descent, I am no longer comfortable coming here and will be finding a new nail salon.
