Upgraded room to get bathrobes. More like a downgrade. Room was disgusting shower head fell off hitting fiancee on head. Walls wefe stained carpet rippled. wall switches hanging off wall. wall lights loose. Room got cleaned found fake eyelash on floor. Headboard thick with dust. Ceiling above shower stained. Duty manager unable to do anything as no maintenance on duty. Loose floor tile at reception desk eventually covered over with a wet floor sign. Exterior of hotel almost as bad as room. Was given upgrade fee back and a free drink. Very unsatisfied would not recommend to anyone

Pool not in use and staff weren't very helpful when suggesting alternatives or offering compensation. We were given drinks vouchers but these were only valid for a small selection of what was available at the bar Room wasn't clean, flys stuck to net curtains. Will not be back to a Mercure hotel again.
