Purchased a 1 night pamper break which included a 25 min treatment in March and booked 8 head, neck and shoulder massages. Confirmed with the spa at least 5 times that the treatments were booked correctly, with the last conversation being 2 days before. On the day, we were advised that they had been booked for the following day (the day after we were due to check out) and that we could not be seen due to unavailability. The spa manager was not in and the hotel manager refused to speak to us!!!
The treatment included in the package was fantastic, me and my friend both opted for the massage and I can't do anything but rate that 5 star. The reason why the whole package does not get the same rating is due to the standard of the food in the restaurant and the afternoon tea, it was basic and felt like it was something that could have been ordered at a Wetherspoons pub. The staff at the hotel, restaurant and spa were all very friendly and professional. The biggest downfall with the package was the spa area, it was kept nice and clean but it was really busy with families using the pool and playing children so not a relaxing atmosphere. This is not something I would react to nornally if I went to a sport centre but when you have booked a pamper package you expect a different sort of ambience. It's a cheap package and in all I would say good value for money but if you want a relaxing time in the spa I recommend using the facilities after breakfast as it was much quieter then.
Friendly staff. But I must say the massage was nothing special at all. The head massage was more like someone lightly touching my head for 10 minutes. Was quite dissatisfied with the whole massage experience.
The hotel was nice. Food of a really good standard in the restaurant, all the staff were lovely and ready to assist us.
I booked to have a couples treatment and that was not carried out. Me and my partner were called separately. Even though the therapists were apologetic it changed my plans so I can't say that I am 100% happy.
Great value and friendly staff. Will definitely go again but
maybe not when the children are off on school holidays because at dinner the kitchen appeared to be having issues (not coping) with the volume of people. I withness a few angry customers complaining, very rudely about how long they had to wait for their meals. Which wasn't nice to witness and seeing the waiting staff being treated like this, when it was not their fault.
