About
After years of working as a dancer I found that I was physically and mentally drained. I was experiencing recurrent neck and shoulder injuries, migraines, poor sleep, anxiety and fluctuating weight problems.
I began practicing Pilates and Yoga and the improvements were immediate and lasting. My body begin to strengthen and align, I stood taller and felt calmer.
I trained to become a Pilates Instructor and have since been fascinated with the workings of the body and it's amazing ability to heal itself. My experience has included the rehabilitation of injuries and postural issues in conjunction with Physiotherapists and Surgeons, the recovery of new mothers post-natal and helping people overcome the stiffness and pain associated with today's sedentary desk lifestyle.
I believe that simply focusing on the body is not enough and Yoga provides a route to transform inside and out. By practicing physical postures (asana), breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation it is possible to find a sense of balance and tranquility in the body, mind and spirit.
I am accredited as a Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance and teach in the Vinyasa Flow style, which is rooted in the Ashtanga Yoga teaching system.
Also being a REPS level 3 Personal Trainer and having a certificate from the National Academy of Sports Medicine I can provide an integrated approach to health and fitness, with strong anatomy and physiology knowledge.
I cater for all levels and abilities and believe that the approach should be tailor made for the student, utilizing Nutrition alongside exercise to reach goals and keep progress steady, enjoyable and sustainable.
I wish to be a teacher lead by kindness, compassion and empathy, allowing students the space and safety to find their own path.
