The actual blow dry was lovely... it's just a shame that the stylist had to keep stopping every time there was a walkin or the phone rang, turning a 45 min appointment into a 75 min "I need to desperately get back to work" rush.
Very friendly staff, and I was very pleased with my haircut.
I feel like I totally scored. I tried out Hairbase with a junior stylist for a t-section, cut, and blow dry. I was lucky enough to get Amelia who did a fantastic job with my hair. She was super down to earth and worked quickly, efficiently, and despite me not giving much direction about what I wanted, she hit the nail on the head anyway. I moved to London a year ago, and I've been jumping around different 5+ different salons trying to find my new "go to". I think I've finally found that in Amelia.
Very friendly staff, worked quickly, lovely cut
I chose Hairbase because my friend goes there and is happy with stylists especially Luigi. As it was last minute booking, I chose junior stylist especially after reading good reviews here. What a mistake. I have been doing highlights for past 20 years, and I've never had such stylist who was so insecure in what they were doing. Foil placement was rather hectic, I have patches of non highlighted hair, and stylist was struggling to work fast. I ended up having colour on my hair for over 3 hours, which ultimately ruined my hair. Haircut was non existent, stylist was cutting my hair like my mum in the childhood- in straight line, had no idea how to achieve layers, it was so obvious that she had next to no experience in haircuts. When it came to blow drying, same story..Stylist kept polishing my had with palms of hands, making sure its flat on the head, looking like a pancake even though I asked for blow dry with a bit of volume. At that point I said stop, and ended the ordeal. I never left salon with my hair being in worse state than before hair appointment. Appointment that was supposed to last 2.5 hours lasted over 4 hours. I am really confused how the management allowed such non experienced person to work with clients and if they ever really supervised highlighting and haircuts done by that stylist. As I'm sure they would not allow such bad standard to be done in their salon, which has been highly recommended to me by my friend for its great stylists.
