The most significant thing you need to know about this place is that they delivered BRILLIANT highlights. The stylist and owner did not look particularly impressed with the previous highlights that I had (from a different salon) and did a fantastic job of improving on it. One of the problems with my previous highlights was that the stylist didn't bother getting close to the root, so I already looked like I had a centimetre of regrowth before I even left the salon. This was not a problem at hair culture - my stylist went to great lengths to ensure that the highlights were as close as possible to the root, and they are not thick and stripey but brilliantly natural and blended. For this reason I will definitely be going back.
The stylists took excellent care of me while I was in the salon. The only thing that took me by surprise was that, once my hair had been cut, my stylist (a different person to the one who did my colour) blowdried my hair straight without asking if I wanted this to be done. I never wear my hair straight, but what was even more problematic than this was that she continued to cut my hair after it was dry (and straight). This is a dangerous manoeuvre as it could make the hair look weird (or too short) when it is left to dry curly. As it happens, the cut is slightly shorter than I would have liked, but looks ok. For this reason I give the colour 5 stars and the cut 3 stars, which gives an overall 4 stars.
If you have straight hair, definitely book an appointment as soon as you can. If you have curly hair, before they start cutting/drying, remind them that you are curly and prefer to wear your hair that way and bear in mind that they might not understand curly hair and your blow dry might end up more frizzy mess or crazy fro than beautiful bouncy curls. (This is just what I suspect might happen). Finally, however your cut/blow dry turns out, I still think it's worth it.
Hair Colouring
The girls were unbelievably welcoming and made me feel really comfortable. The stylist who did my hair colouring knew what she was doing. I showed her a picture of what i wanted and she was on it! The other stylist who did my haircut was incredibly understanding of what i wanted. AND this was the first stylist i found in London that managed to straighten my hair with just the blow-drier (my hair is frizzy and curly and other salons have to use both a blow-drier and an iron which damages my hair).
This is definitely going to be my regular hair salon from now on! :)

This Is a nice salon, staff are very friendly, my hair dresser was very kind and good at what she does, I liked my hair cut.
Even tho I had to wait over an hour after my appointment due to their staff shortage the staff was very apologetic and made me feel comfortable, I would recommend this salon for its great experienced staff.
Ladies' Haircuts
I really love my new curls! All the staff were very nice and welcoming, always asking if I was ok and if I needed a drink or a magazine to read. I will definitely recommend this salon to my friends and I will be going back there again :)
Permanent Waves
The staff were friendly and welcoming and I am pleased with my haircut although I feel my haircut and blow dry were very rushed. Emile had two clients at the same time so I waited 45 minutes for her to begin my haircut. I felt it was rushed as she was also doing someone's highlights and was conscious of time which made me feel uncomfortable. I read an earlier review about the best blow dry ever but mine took less than 5 minutes so I was disappointed. I did however have a lovely head massage with my wash. I am pleased with my hair cut but I didn't get enough time in the salon to really check. The whole cut and blow dry took 30 minutes and I would much prefer someone take their time so that I feel they are doing their best job with my hair. However, saying all this, I would like to return to Emile again because if she can cut this well under time pressure, I would like to have her cut my hair when she has more time! I would also recommend Emile to others.
