I had a great experience at Gusto! The service is so friendly and inviting, energetic music playing and nice details like new magazines and fresh teas with biscuits. The results are terrific, the blond highlights they gave me are the perfect shade and they listened to me about what I wanted. The cut was just a trim, and the right amount was taken off.

Pretty sure this is one of my least favourite salon experiences. Long story short, I was told blow-dry was not part of the service I bought when in fact it was (cutting down on services?), and the person cutting my hair did not listen to what I wanted. I have specifically said I want the length to be BELOW chin, and now my hair is unambiguously ABOVE chin. It wasn't just a miscommunication problem - without going into details, it felt like she had an idea in her head and executed it without checking in with me.
The whole experience also felt like she was trying to finish her job as quickly as possible - the "luxury mask conditioning treatment" was a joke. She put a small amount of conditioner on my hair and waited 2 minutes before rinsing it off. This is compared to other places where they would put a hot towel for more than 2 minutes to amplify the effect of the conditioning treatment.
Everyone was very polite throughout, but I personally would prefer someone who takes their time to do their job well and maybe a bit ruder/indifferent, than constantly asking me how I'm doing but don't actually listen to what I have to say.

Really friendly and warm reception. Very sociable and chatty hairdresser.
It felt slightly rushed (perhaps because they were running late?) and there was a big push to sell additional products/treatments which I'm not a big fan of.
