The absolute worst experience I've ever had at a salon. All I wanted was a wash, trim and blowdry. The trim took a maximum of about 3 minutes and then after the blowdry I noticed that the ends of my hair were burnt to a crisp. My hair was literally thick, rough and zigzaggy, splitting and breaking off. When I showed this to Danielle she looked at me and said she didn't know how it got burnt. No apology. No refund. Just a cheap mask to put on after I complained. The mask did nothing because you can't fix burnt hair. Had to go to another salon and get my hair cut again, much shorter to get rid of the burnt hair. Fuming.
Great Service with a smile, Elena is such a pro. I so appreciate her working her magic on my hair. I highly recommend her for a personal touch and style. Thanks so much Elena.
I bought a Groupon voucher and wanted to redeem it by booking a wash, cut and blow dry a week in advance. Spent a whole day phoning up and no one picked up. The next day someone picked up and left a message for the relevant hairdresser to return my call. Waited 5 hours. Nothing! Eventually phoned back again and was put through to the right person only to be told that because I had a Groupon voucher the soonest appointment they could offer me was 2 weeks away and then hung up on me! Needless to say I got my Groupon voucher refunded immediately and will never be going to this salon!
Glo Beauty & Hair, have always been very pleasant and welcoming even before Covid-19. Now the pandemic hard on our heels and going back into lockdown it has been most difficult time for the salon and everyone else. However, the salon has been very positive and supportive in many ways than one. We are made to feel special and safe.
After long self isolation I decided that my roots were in desperate need of a warm happy colour. It also made me realise how grey I really was and it’s a look I did not want to embrace. Yes, agreed, a little vain 🤣
Initially I was very apprehensive about going to the salon after long period of isolation. However, my fears were immediately put to rest, the salon was well prepared, clean, sanitised and well organised.
The staff welcomed me with virtual open arms and made feel safe and relaxed.
After my hair was coloured and shampooed, I looked at my reflection in the mirror and there was a new me looking back. I felt young and beautiful again after a very long time.

It has been a difficult time for all of us, we should all be kind, respectful and help each other and not let this pandemic beat us down
. I booked to use this voucher for my birthday (after trying on 3 attempts to book).
Firstly, I tried ringing the salon for an hour the morning of my appointment to confirm the time I was due in and noone answered despite shop saying it was open. When I did arrive the hairdresser didn't even look at my hair before the wash. Admittedly I just wanted a trim but it would of been nice to have got her opinion. The hairwash was okay with amazing massage chair. I did only get one shampoo which normally at a salon I have two. The hair cut/trim was very quick and basic, my fringe was left a bit whispsy and the hairdresser just did a standard straight blow dry, which did make a change and look nice however as it was my birthday I was hoping for something a bit more glam. I tried to make conversation with the hairdresser but it was hard work.No hairspray or heat protection was used either As I said my hair did get a basic one length trim so my hair now lacks layers and straight blow dry but I came away feeling a bit miserable, I was in and out in less than 30mins. I have posted this mainly as I too would like an honest review , just be prepared for a quick cut if using groupon
