Sorry to give this a poor rating this time. Normally my favourite place to go in Finsbury Park but had a terrible experience on this occasion. Firstly, my wax was 25 mins late with barely an apology. Secondly, my beautician was then in such a rush she entered the room when I was still undressing (literally only left the room for 30 secs) and did not apologise. She then tried to do my wax really quickly. As a result, it was so painful. She wouldn’t let the wax dry before ripping it off so it kept getting stuck to my skin. I asked her to slow down and she blamed my skin being hot. I would give this one star but don’t want to be too harsh. It’s put me off wanting to come back.

It was my first visit and I was booked in with Joanna. From the outside the salon doesn't look like much especially as it's on such a busy road but the moment you walk in, you forget about the world outside and feel instantly relaxed. Joanna was absolutely brilliant, she was so friendly and professional. The choice of music in a spa is so important to me and the music here was absolutely perfect as was the decor and lighting. I started with a facial which was so good, I drifted off to sleep a few times. Joanna did everything so well, she explained what she was doing and I didn't feel like anything was missing. Then I had a relaxing massage which was exactly that, I felt like I was going to fall asleep again. The only thing I was disappointed in was that in a full body massage I'm used to being asked to turn over and having the front done as well, however it wasn't on this occasion. The problem is, having your face in that hole in the bed for a full hour becomes very uncomfortable and it started to detract from the relaxation of the massage. The other small thing is that you can hear everything going on in the reception area and corridors which can impact on the ambience which is otherwise great. I managed to tune it out but for some people it may be an issue.
All in all I had a lovely experience with just a couple of minor niggles. I would definitely come back again and definitely recommend Joanna, she was so good!
