Unfortunately I feel I have to write a negative review. My first visit to the salon, while I sat waiting I couldnt help notice the lack of cleanliness all around the area. The nail bar was covered in dust from nail filling there was clipped nails on the floor, it look very unprofessional. The dermalogica display was dirty with dust all under the display and behind the desk was full of messy paperwork with a waste bin full of tissues and stuff. Not what you want to see really. The treatment room I was in was very rundown, there was wax stains all over the floor and the skirtings were very old and looked in need of a good clean. The toilets were much the same very old and I couldnt help but notice the plug sockets which were grubby and old, it made me feel a bit grubby myself! I didnt want to stand on the floor in my bare feet. This salon is in need of a complete makeover and the cleanliness leaves something to be desired. I really didnt believe the posters stating they had won an award, I really wonder how that happened. The treatment I had was okay and the girl was polite, however i don't think I'll be back. I know two other people who have been recently and all had the same opinion, its a shame really as its been there for a long time.
This place is definitely 5 star! The staff are always so friendly and my nails are always perfect, they also last for ages too!! Well done on Winning Beauty Salon of the Year - well deserved!
I was given a voucher for Christmas and used it to book the 20/20/20. The whole experience was disappointing.
The welcome was less than effusive - not even a smile. The receptionist didn't know what time noon was! The pixellated printed-out posters about the spa's recent award looked unprofessional, and they're the first thing you see. I asked to use the bathroom before my treatment and it looked really run-down, with a stained toilet bowl, grubby grouting and bits missing from the door.
The treatment itself (in a cramped room with a bed covered in doctor's office paper towel as well as cotton towels - can they not spare fresh towels for each client?) was very blah. I told the therapist I had knots in my shoulders but she didn't even try to work them out - I came out feeling just as tense as I had going in! I was intrigued as to what the 'arm smoothie' would be but it was just an arm massage with unscented oil - why not just call it that? Throughout the treatment I could hear the spa phone ringing, crockery clattering and people chatting. The treatment was meant to last 60 minutes (hence the name 20/20/20) but it was only 50 minutes.
My husband who had a full body massage at the same time wasn't impressed either. Neither of us would go back.
Really good treatment, room relaxing and treatment explained tor thoroughly so I knew what was going on, skin looked and felt ten times better straightaway!
