I booked with Georgina the owner and director for an Ombre and cut for £132.00. I called to say I was running 5 minutes late and was told that Georgina wasn't working that day, but I would be seen by Michael who's also a director and he was at the reception desk when I arrived. I said there was a £20.00 price difference between him and Georgina which he refused to admit to begin with but then I showed him the proof on the site and he finally accepted. I wanted a trim and a bright ginger ombre and explained continuously that I hate streaks of colour and have never had highlights because of this and to at all costs to avoid stripes and streaks and to avoid red hair which I'm personally really dislike as it just doesn't suit me. My hair is long and straight, mid-brown, in good condition and goes to the middle of my back. The colour turned out red and not ginger, and the 'ombre' starts above my ears. There are about 3 or more thick, really obvious streaks of strong colour running about 2-3 inches from my roots and there is no graduation in tone from about the middle of my ears downwards to the middle of my back - just stripey red from there downwards - all one solid tone. The very ends haven't even all been died either and when I complained I was told if all the ends had been died it would've been 'too much'. It basically looks like I am growing out red hair and red highlights and when I tried to get my money back I was told that he had done exactly what I asked and was literally laughed out of the salon. As in- he literally laughed at me as I was leaving. I went home absolutely devastated and cried my eyes out. It is absolutely atrocious - everyone I've asked says it's red and not ginger and no one can tell how this is supposed to be an ombre. My treatment so far has been absolutely appalling - the gaslighting - telling me that it's exactly what I wanted, and as a hairdresser with 16 years experience, I very much doubt the streaks of colour at my roots were an accident. Then afterwards he said if I had wanted the colour to be brighter I should've booked bleach with tint which is more expensive. Why wasn't this offered before we started? Why not change the booking to what I want instead of create a haircut I don't want to match the booking? I chose a colour from their book and at the end my hair didn't match the colour I chose, nor the next colour down from it. Why did no one say there was a chance it would not turn out like the one in their selection? I've called to get it fixed with Georgina tomorrow and I will see what happens. To step away from a hair salon having paid £112 (having seen how it turned out he was quick to refund the £20) and come away with what looks like I need to have my roots done and be treated the way I was is mindblowing.
