The end result of this gel manicure was good, but the experience was by far the worst I've had in a salon and I won't be returning.
I arrived for my appointment ten minutes early to have some extra time to pick out colours; upon arriving, I was immediately pointed towards a seat and sat down, which ought to have been a good thing.
I didn't have time to take off my jacket or straighten the chair into a comfortable position before my hands were being soaked and wrapped up in gel remover, and was expected to flip through the colour wheel with the remover clips still on - it was awkward and stressful, and I wound up choosing a colour close to my usual rather than taking time to find something new.
The therapist did a mostly okay job shaping my nails and thankfully did ask whether I was happy with the shape so a few where she'd filed unevenly or at a different length could be fixed.
I was given two layers of coloured polish and not asked whether I'd like a third, which is a shame as the colour would have looked more even. The manicure and application process itself was clumsy, with corrections being made throughout.
Despite starting the appointnent early, it finished a couple of minutes later than indicated by the timeslot.
Overall, a bad experience I would actively advise others to avoid and I wish I hadn't paid for it.
