As I normally do, I arrived 5 mins early. A kind looking gentleman greeted me, asked me to take a seat and got me a drink. The salon looked gorgeous, so I was surprised as to my experience to come. After waiting 20 minutes total, the one hairdresser in there beckoned me to the basin. No introduction, no apology for the wait and no consultation. The stylist first words were “Wash, cut, blow dry and treatment”, I confirm and said “yes, Olaplex treatment”Head straight to the basin. Starts to wash aggressively, water all over my eyes and wiping my forehead down to my eyebrows Combs thought my long hair with a comb not holding the hair so it was yanking painfully at my head. Puts what I thought was conditioner through my hair, whilst I try to remember my last olaplex treatment and thought that it started on dry hair. Then she put a plastic hood on me and a hot towel when I asked her if this was the correct treatment. She said yes and proceeded to ask, who I assumed was the boss if the treatment went on wet or dry... he responded dry. I then asked to see the product and was shown a tub of Wellaplex conditioner. On seeing the product I explained that I have paid for Olaplex and showed her my booking. Her defensive response was “it’s the same thing” I explained the difference between the two and it was apparent that she didn’t know the difference between the two After a rather heated talk, I decided not o go ahead with the cut as I didn’t feel comfortable having a stylist that doesn’t know the difference between olaplex and wellaplex. A simple apology for the lack of communication from the stylist would have sufficed but she sat down at the basin and didn’t offer to dry my hair.... to which the gentleman in charge offered to dry my hair. I declined and dried my own hair. Gentleman explained she was “on probation”, but that is no excuse for her behaviour. This was a huge inconvenience as I had an event and no time for an alternative. The gentleman offered me a cash refund which I took. Will not be returning.
