Alexandra Marques is the Heart & Soul of Desert Rose Wellness. A passionate Beautician Cosmetologist, who from very early on decided to make a difference by being a difference. When she was only 13 years old, during her weekends and school holidays, she began by washing heads in a salon in her home town in Portugal. Her dream was to be a hairdresser, a career that she pursued in a practical and passionate way until 2017. However it was in 2001, 21 years ago, when she went to Thailand to do Thai Massage & Foot Reflexology Training, she came across to her passion. To help people love themselves and never give up on their dreams.

Therefore it is extremely important to love and take care of our own body, soul & spirit. It's time for our light to shine and it's time we love who we see in the mirror."

Desert Rose Wellness is based inside Smile Global Clinic, located in central Borehamwwod, opposite to the train station and on the main bus routes (Station Road).

Desert Rose Wellness was founded by Alexandra Marques, a Beautician Cosmetologist & Waxing Specialist, with more than two decades of international experience. Her personalised and Holistic approach to connecting with her clients is evident in every treatment.

With a diverse selection of treatments exclusive for ladies and Teenagers, at Desert Rose Wellness you can choose from an indulgent selection of facials such as; Deep Cleansing, Illuminating Radiance, Express, Teen - High Frequency in the Classic range and Collagen-boosting Radiofrequency & Skin Base Microdermabrasion in Advanced Facials.

There are also Body Treatments such as Thai Reflexology; Candle & DRW Body Massage - exclusive massage which uses a combination of different techniques tailored to each client's needs, promoting relaxation, stress and muscle tensions relief; Ultrasound Cavitation, Radiofrequency & Pressotherapy - Mechanical lymphatic drainage.

And of course not forgetting the basic Rejuvenate Manicure & Pedicure, as well as Hot & Strip Body Waxing.

With over 32 years of experience in customer service, and 27 years of marriage, Alexandra has developed invaluable skills, so that in the last 16 years she has developed a remarque work volunteering in Faith Communities as a Couples Therapist.

In 2019 she decided to deepen her knowledge by completing a level 2 academic training in Counselling Skills. With the Covid pandemic invading people's lives, she quickly realised that this was an opportunity to continue to develop her work and knowledge so she could help the customers who turned to her for online support.

After 3 years of working hard in her studies, she accomplished a Level 3 in Counselling Studies and a Level 4 Diploma in Life Coaching, under the guidelines of BACP & CPCAB.

Nowadays, her working days are invested as a Beautician and as an Integrated Practitioner (Life Coaching & Relationship Therapy - Flexible hours availability, home visits, concessionary rates).

Opening Hours for Beauty Treatments & 121 Face-to-Face Therapy:
Tuesdays: 15:00 pm - 21:00 pm
Sundays: 9:00 am - 21:00 pm
