So I saw my hairdresser (who seemed very nice) having a hard time with the customer he had before me – I thought the customer was being a little rude and overreacting about her hair being cut a bit shorter than she wanted. But that was until I had my hair cut and it seemed like it was the hairdresser’s first week in a salon.
Wash technique was fine, but the water temperature kept spiking to boiling hot which made my scalp burn.
Discussion about my cut seemed fine, although my hairdresser didn’t speak or understand very much English (granted I have a kiwi accent so it can be hard sometimes).
The actual cut was okay, until I noticed that my usually straight across fringe was cut extremely patchy (there were bits and pieces that were strangely longer in a lot of places) so I asked him to make it even and straight across, which he happily did. Afterwards I still found pieces that were longer than the rest of my fringe.
He cut my hair to the length I wanted, but didn’t really take notice to my hair type (my hair is not thick but I have a lot of hair) and that I it should be thinned out, or else it sits like one of Sia’s wigs. So I asked him to thin it out, which he did happily, but it felt like my hair was being hacked at with thinning scissors and there was no real technique.
I thought to myself “oh well, that’s what you get for paying £35” but I really am disappointed to find my bob has random longer bits with unrefined layers and a fringe that is lopsided and uneven, as if I had cut my own hair.
Sorry to say I won’t be back :(
