I ended up having balayage instead of the full head of highlights that I booked and I was so impressed. The owner of the salon ended up doing my hair instead of Molly as she went home.
I was talked through the whole process and I was so impressed with the outcome. I was extremely nervous to go lighter but it came out amazing thanks to the lovely lady who did my hair. I would definitely recommend!!
The salon is spotless and modern and staff are friendly and polite. I normally use pricey central London salons but came to Welling as I was visiting a relative nearby. I was so pleasantly surprised at the cost of my full head of highlights, cut and blow dry and I’ve nothing but compliments from people about how nice it looks. I’ll definitely be back
I didn’t plan on writing this review, however, feel I need to share my experience. I visited this salon on the 23rd April to get a wavy perm. I discussed in detail with ela how I wanted it and showed examples. I made it clear that I did not want the conventional perm and that I wanted a wavy perm that would make my everyday life easier as I wouldn’t need to style it.
She did a test perm using 2 different sized rods at around the halfway point of my lengths. One of the perms didn’t take too well however the other test perm created a nice soft wave from my mid length down. Exactly what I wanted! She progressed to doing the full head using both sizes to create a natural look. When she washed them out and combed it through, I noticed the curls were much tighter and higher than I wanted however she mentioned that perms take a little time to drop so assumed this would happen. I left with my hair wet to air dry as it was quite damaged from the perm.
However, when I returned home and saw it in different light, I knew it wasn’t right, then it started drying and looked horrendous. Everyone though I had washed it and ruined it but I hadn’t touched it. I left it overnight (Looking like a cave woman) and then returned the next day to show her. I was really polite to her and explained that I was really upset and embarrassed about how it looked. She and another senior member of staff sprayed it with water and looked through it, the whole-time making excuses. I tried to explain it was not what I expected or asked for and that I looked like a cockerpoo. I felt as though they were not understanding at all and told me what I wanted was unachievable through a perm (It is!) they suggested to either relax it which could cause more damaged and make my hair even straighter than usual or leave it for a week to see if it drops, even still the “curls” aren’t right. As they are unable to achieve the result’s I want I asked for a refund to go elsewhere to which ela said she was happy to do but before she does could I come back in later to let her style it. I agreed to this but felt it made no difference as the whole reason I got a perm was to avoid frequent styling that would take 1hr+, when I said this to one of the stylists she was really rude and said “well it wouldn’t take ela an hour to do” as if I have an ela to do my hair every morning!.
I came back later in the day and was honest from the start explaining that she can’t fix it and I have consulted elsewhere who are going to attempt to fix it and that I would just like a refund, to which she now refused. She was completely in denial that there was anything wrong with my perm. After nearly 20 minutes of her being really rude to myself and my sister and accused me of coming in for a treatment and then demanding a refund for no reason, she reluctantly gave me back the cost of the perm but refused to refund the price of the trim and deep treatment which were all a result of the perm anyway. I would also like to point out that I chose this salon based on their treatwell profile that explicitly states they can tailor perms to suit the customer’s needs. I would hope anyone reading this seriously considers this before booking at this salon. As you can see from the pictures this is what I have been left with, and other salons are unwilling to correct the curls as my hair is so damaged.
I would like to say though that the junior stylist/apprentice molly is lovely, and I wish her all the best.
