Staff are really lovely, the salon was clean and everyone was wearing PPE. Overall, the cut is good and the length I wanted. The blonde colour looks even and glossy and I was recommended to use more treatments at home as I’ve now had bleach done. I guess because we didn’t communicate enough about what my expectation was I’ve ended up unhappy so I wish I actually showed pictures of what I had done before to be very clear of what I wanted. I’ve had blonde balayage done before elsewhere and it was far more natural looking that time so comparing what I had done today with a previous experience I personally think this is awful looking. My expectation was my own natural roots (I’m dark blonde) and a faded in light blonde finish. I think the result today is far too blonde as bleach has been applied pretty much all the way up to the scalp meaning it’s not natural looking or blended with minimal roots. This also cost me £60 more than I’ve paid before, partly because I chose to add treatments (protector and a toner). I shouldn’t have assumed that “balayage” means the same thing in every salon or to every hair dresser as it was my first time here. I would have hoped that the hair dresser would ask more questions to make sure we are on the same page before starting too. That’s where naively I went wrong so my recommendation to others is to be very explicit and show pictures to avoid disappointment with your end result.
I was worried about having my hair cut during Covid 19, but as soon as I arrived I felt very relaxed. Everything was so well organised.
Ela always cuts my hair just the way I like it.
