About
Meet Brendan I began my journey in hairstyling at the age of 13 and later pursued a three-year cosmetology program, graduating with a C.O.T.T. and NSC6. During my time in college, I actively participated in hairdressing competitions, achieving success by winning every category for three consecutive years and earning the prestigious Victrix Ledorum award for excellence. This success opened the door to an invitation to join the Intercoiffure national team, where I continued to excel and won multiple awards in national competitions. My passion for learning led me to attend numerous seminars and conferences hosted by industry leaders such as Redken, Kérastase, and L'Oréal, further enriching my skills and knowledge. After qualifying as a hairdresser, I had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with L'Oréal on launching a new colour range, which involved presenting on stage to showcase the latest innovations. For 15 years, I worked as a presenter and artist for L'Oréal, featuring their seasonal collections across South Africa and Europe, in addition to owning two of my own award-winning salons. I’ve been privileged to be heavily involved in numerous fashion shows, working at fashion week, and engaging in editorial projects with international photographers and models. My work has been published in notable magazines such as Marie Claire, ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Estetica, and Hairdressing Journal, among others. I served as the official stylist for the bridal fair for five years, managing the hair for their fashion shows and collaborating with many haute couture designers. Throughout my career, I took two brief breaks: the first to join the Goldwell artistic team, and the second to further explore my creative potential. My journey has been one of continuous growth, dedication, and a deep love for the art of hairstyling. Currently, I am working as an ambassador and educator for Xpert, traveling across the UK, Ireland, Europe, and America to educate hairdressers on all technical aspects of hairdressing and assisting salon owners with management strategies. I regularly present courses at the London Academy and do technical hairdressing work for several brands, including R+Co, BLEU, Alfaparf Milano, NAK and ORILAB, which we use here in Braunton, where you can catch me working most Saturdays. I have just published my first book on the art of hairdressing consultation, which is truly my passion and forte. I love helping people achieve what they didn't think was possible by listening, understanding, and providing professional guidance and advice. As a master of technical craft, I provide a one-to-one service dedicated to the architecture of your hair—taming frizz, defining natural curls, and restoring a deep, healthy luster through precision cutting and bespoke colouring. Our service menu includes Short haircuts, like pixie cuts, medium haircuts, like bobs, Lobs, Bixies etc. and of course long hair cuts and trims with big bouncy blow-dries and hollywood waves. We also do wedding or bridal upstyles, general updos and party hair. We are hair colour specialists and we do Highlights, foilayage, balayage, airtouch, soft blends, root taps, toners, full colour transformations, rainbow hair, colour corrections and also every day maintenance like grey cover and semi permanent colour glosses.
