efficient and well done as usual
Great welcome from Lisa when I arrived early. Professional and informative manicure from Magda. The manicure is pricey, but worth it. Great experience overall.
Amazing technicians and amazing nails!
Love this little gem of a nail salon. Friendly professional staff, great colours and good tunes.
Booked with Funmi a week before and turn up to find someone else is doing my pedicure. Why bother allowing people to book with a particular technician if someone who calls up the day before and can muscle in on your appointment? I’ve become a regular of Colour Riot and this is the worst experience so far. My technician, Lisa, was kinda abrasive - I asked her to not use the electric nail file/cuticle remover on my nails because that’s how your nails get damaged. The technicians at Colour Riot have always been really careful about not damaging a healthy nail and I’ve always been so impressed with their attention and care. She seemed put out that she’d have to remove my existing gel nails with foils (as is the correct way) and tried a second time to convince me to let her use the electric nail thing to clean up my cuticles. I’ve had a pedicure every single month for at least three years. There is no way my cuticles require that much attention. I explained that I don’t like people using it because they’re careless and overzealous so that it stings and they’ve left my toes sore. By this point, I felt she was actually annoyed with me and aggressively started neatening my nails with a cuticle trimmer. She went so far that she cut my skin near the cuticle of my big toe, which has scabbed and not fully healed a week later. I’ve heard horror stories of people ending up in hospitals on drips because of infections they’ve caught in nail salons. I don’t plan on being one of those people. As the client, my wishes should be respected. The water they used to soak my feet was barely lukewarm and some of the polish didn’t reach the edge - a passive aggressive attempt to show my regrowth sooner and force me to come in earlier for the next one. I will be coming back again, to see Funmi, and if I see this technician again I will flat out refuse to be seen by her.
