The stylist who cut my hair was very polite and I am relatively happy with the end result, but I found a few basics were missed and I wanted to feed back.
After washing your hair, a stylist usually brushes the hair carefully with a comb to get rid of any knots. At Luxe, the stylist used an old looking paddle brush (that already had a load of old blonde hair in, which I found quite gross ) and yanked out the knots by brushing from the top of the roots down.
Secondly, at no point did the stylist ask where my parting was. The entire cut was done with a middle parting but my natural parting is slightly to the left. It’s not the end of the world, but I thought it was odd that I wasn’t asked.
Thirdly, when cutting my fringe, the stylist used a technique where he ran the scissors down my hair diagonally. This is what most hairdressers have done previously so I wasn’t surprised, however he must’ve been using blunt scissors as it really pulled at my hair and made a ripping sound.
Finally, the stylist very kindly offered to dry my hair before I went outside as I didn’t book a blow dry and it was still wet. He dried it for 5-10 mins, but failed to add any serum before to protect the hair so it ended up frizzy. It feels pretty counterproductive to go to the hair dressers to chop off your ends and make your hair look healthier, then the stylist doesn’t use serum?
Again, the stylist was super nice and the end result is fine, but I wanted to provide feedback on some basic and fundamental things that were missed, and which could’ve made my experience much better.
