So not a glowing review but I’ll start with the pros!
The location is super, tucked away in Neals Yard in Covent Garden. It’s a lovely little nail bar, very chic with super friendly staff, however...
I think my nail tech was junior and it really shows. I thought the way he was filing was a little quirky, and then when he started to apply the acrylic, the technique was different to other nail techs I’ve had in the past. I didn’t really think anything was off, I’m not an expert after all. However when I left the salon I realised just how lumpy and uneven my acrylic is, worsened by choice of metallic nail polish which I think in hindsight was way past it’s use by. My nails feel rather clunky and bubble shaped and I actually have a lot of texture on the ends of my nails as well. I waited about 15 mins with my hands under a fan and it all looked there abouts okay but when I left and got under proper lighting (it’s rather dimly lit but it all adds to the chic ambiance) I realised some nails don’t even have paint covering all of them and the disappointment sank in.
It’s such a shame, the staff were so lovely but I won’t be returning, particularly as this was meant to be a one off treat as I was in the area. I think I’m going to soak the colour off, buff them down and hopefully they’ll be okay for a few weeks longer before the need to soak them off entirely.
