The smell of acrylics, etc. was off-putting, it felt like a hostile atmosphere and over all the experience was not very relaxing... A razor blade was used to get off the dry skin on my feet, and she nicked the back of ankle. There wasn't much massage involved. It all rather rushed and my nails weren't filed smooth, they still felt rough. Only a few days later and the nail varnish has chipped off my finder nails, so it's felt like a waste of time and money!
The nail bar was very clean, very well kept. What let the experience down was that the Nail technician I had made a comment that I bite my nails out loud, (that’s why I was there to cover up my embarrassment, I have bad anxiety and I do this because of my anxiety) and then proceeded to laugh about it with her colleagues, this obviously made me feel really self conscious and very uncomfortable and this was in the first 5 minutes of being there. She then points out my fake tan, (which I needed to wash off) in a judgey way, I could of mistaking this comments as conversation starters but the tone and how no other questions followed, all made me feel like I was being laughed at and judged.
Half way through my appointment another customer came in, and my technician decided that I wasn’t her priority anymore and then switched so she could be with this other lady, I found this very unprofessional as they were 2 other nail technicians free to serve this lady. I felt that I was consistently treated less as other customers and I could figure out why, I wasn’t rude and was my usual polite self.
I’ve had plenty of acrylics done, so I know what to expect quality wise, with these
ones I have very uneven thickness in the acrylic and bubbles in my nails as well, the polish was okay but not the best I’ve seen, they too were in even in strokes. It was done quickly, as if I was meant to quickly hurried along because of my apparently laughable bitten nail. They didn’t cap off my nails with a top coat, (surely this is expected in any nail salon) this led too 4 of my nails chipping within 6 hours of getting them done. The lengths on my ring fingered and index finger were different lengths compared to the other side. I know it’s difficult to work on bitten nails, but other nail technicians have done an amazing jobon my nails before so there no excuse. Overall quality was as bad as the manners.
When leaving the salon I politely and nicely said goodbye and Thankyou, only got a thanks from one of the technicians. I only bring this up due to when any other client left the salon they all got a big Thankyou and goodbye from nearly everyone one there, and when I left there was only 1 other lady being seen too there was no excuse for this. Manners don’t cost a thing, ive worked in retail and customer service all my working life and I know how important good manners are. The manners of the technicians aren’t good at all they ruined my experience there, I’ve never been treated that badly by any nail salon and never felt so judged and uncomfortable. Went there to try a new salon from my usual, and left feeling embarrassed. They’ve lost a possible regular and any chance of a good review/ recommendation to my friends.
