Visited the lovely Champneys in Enfield for the Champney Express Manicure. Upon arrival was acknowledged and greeted by the polite therapist. I was made to feel very comfortable and at ease with the lovely and friendly therapist Holly. My experience was very relaxing and the therapists are professional, informative and passionate.
Looking forward to other treatments booked with Champneys in Enfield. Thank you ladies!
AVOID!!!
I booked a Beautiful Bump massage last week and was looking forward to it as I needed to unwind - esp being 27+ weeks pregnant.
Arrived on time, filled in a form and was taken to my room - which was located right next to a 'pedicure station'.
The therapist was not prepared as she scattered off to get some sheets to lay on the bed and also told me to undress. I duly waited for her to 'dress' the room before undressing myself and perching on the edge of the bed. She walked in quickly and asked me to place my feet in a bowl of warm water which was perched on a 'wheely' stool - ..disastrous as the stool kept moving.. By now we're already 10mins late for the massage as the room was not prepared.
We could hear the noisy conversation the nail therapist was having with her client, not to mention the constant slamming of the toilet door next door.
The massage was not a 'massage' - it's just a process of gently applying cream to your body. I understand it shouldn't be a rigorous massage, however this treatment was shocking.
Most worryingly I was asked to lay on my back - FLAT on the bed for the rest of the process. For anyone trained in pregnancy massage knows is not recommended to lay flat on your back after 20 weeks for an extended period. I asked the therapist if she's done this massage before on pregnant clients and she said 'yes many times'
I had to stop her 3 times as I felt light headed, hot, needed water and requested several times for her to raise my head. She found it odd that I wanted to be upright. I am very doubtful indeed that Champneys have place a qualified member of staff in place to carry out this process.
The 'massage' was complete 30-35 mins after it started. I didn't get my 55min massage as she spent time getting the sheets, tidying the room and then ran out to get a bowl of water for my feet.
I was told I could get ready at the end - only for the therapist to walk in shortly after I was still attempting to get dressed - opening the door in full view of anyone sitting at the nail bar! She came in to 'tidy up' while I got dressed... I have never been humiliated like this.. it's such a disgusting place - I would never recommend it to anyone.
I have called the spa and left a message as well as an email for the spa manager to contact me - to no avail. Avoid this place at all cost - I've never been made to feel so humiliated.

I was not overally impressed with the end result of my manicure. I was told the polish would last 7 days and by the next day it had already started to chip. I also felt the finish did not look great but hoped it would look better once it had dried. Sadly it did not.
