The spa was okay. Had all the facilities you'd expect, however, layout could have been considered more. There's quite a lot of noise coming from the pool area so the 'relaxation room' wasn't so relaxing. The afternoon tea was nice. There was a lot of bored teenagers hanging around the restaurant/bar area which made the experience a little uncomfortable. Boys were using the girls toilets and they were also quite rude to guests. The nail treatment I received was FAB! The nail technitian did an amazing job and was very lovely and chatty. The staff in general were brilliant. Very kind and helpful and made you feel very welcome. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for the spa alone, but definitely the treatments and the staff made the day!
Spa and hotel clean. Some staff really helpful others not! Overall a really good break and would recommend really good value
I have just got back from a spa break for myself and my friend for her birthday. I think everyone should be made aware of the poor quality of service we received plus the sub-standard level of facilities and the shoddy condition of the hotel. Hotel experience • When we arrived, we were told our cream teas hadn’t been booked and would have to have them the next day as they were fully booked. As we were leaving the next morning, we had to complain several times for them to finally squeeze is in. • The lift was broken so several steep flights of stairs had to be climbed to reach our room. • When we got our cream tea eventually, apart from only getting sandwiches, scones and a slither of soggy apple cake, the scones were all stale. However, we did complain and they brought us some fresh ones. It was still a highly unimaginative cream tea! • A violent fight broke out in front us while we were eating our dinner among some male wedding guests, which obviously spoilt our evening. We were nervous to even go to the ladies after that. • We found a pubic hair in our bedding before we had even got into bed! Yuck! • The room was so hot with no thermostat control we had to sleep with the window open together with the noise of traffic and car fumes. • The ceiling was leaking next to the table were we had our breakfast as it was raining!?! Spa experience • The staff at the spa were friendly but very disorganised. We had to ask for robes and slippers twice as we weren’t initially offered any and realised other people had them. The excuse was they had to launder them and hadn’t got them dry! • There is only one shower with a see-through door in the ladies plus one toilet and two changing rooms - an appalling levels of facilities for the 25 or more women using the spa at once. • I think as a result of the high temperature and lack of food due to having to wait for our cream tea, I fainted for the first time in my life. Luckily my friend and other guests looked after me amazingly well. Once I’d recovered we told the staff, and all they could say was I hope you weren’t out for too long and get yourself a glass of wine and you’ll be fine! Apart from their total lack of concern and ridiculous advice, shouldn’t they have filed an incident report at the very least? I was left feeling embarrassed for mentioning it. My friend and I spent a lot of money on this weekend, hoping to be pampered and come back relaxed, but instead we felt traumatised, neglected and totally disappointed. We have been on several spa weekends in the past and know what to expect and this didn’t come close to our previous experiences in any way. I have emailed the hotel manager, head office and Spa Breaks and no of them have had the decency to contact me!
It was OK for short break, the breakfast and dinner with the service was first class.we needed one more night to get more out of the break.
Our room and the hotels facilities were lovely just as we expected from the pictures. The spa was perfect with lots of different treatments to take full advantage of! And our room was nice and tidy just as we hoped a downside was that we was on the 3rd floor and the lift was out of use, and the stairs are pretty steep, other than that a great location not to far from the beach! However we did have some dissapointment when it come to our evening meal in the restaurant which was included in the deal! To start off we wasn't offered drinks for a least half hour and even then we had to ask for them, both the starter and main I ordered come out as completely different dishes forcing my partner and I to eat at different times, we was in the restaurant for 3 hours and did not even stay for dessert, we was extremely fed up at this point and the manager was not considerate or helpful in anyway.
