Bodyworks Beauty & Wellness is proudly owned by Helen Rose, a North East native who has recently returned home after more than 30 years running a successful gym and wellness business near London. Many will recognise Helen as “Panther” from ITV’s Gladiators, a role that stemmed from her lifelong passion for health and fitness. Helen founded Panthers Gym decades ago — first in the North East, later expanding to the South — creating multi-purpose spaces that brought together fitness, beauty, aesthetics, and therapy under one roof. Bodyworks represents the next evolution of that vision: a more intimate wellness haven designed for relaxation, rejuvenation, and reconnection. A true pioneer for women in fitness, Helen’s career has been marked by numerous achievements, including titles such as Miss Britain, Miss Europe, and Overall Miss Universe in bodybuilding. Her journey reflects a deep understanding of the dedication, balance, and self-care needed to sustain both body and mind. Now in her early 60s, Helen remains as passionate as ever about helping others prioritise their wellbeing. At Bodyworks Beauty & Wellness in Cullercoats, she and her team offer a wide range of treatments designed to support holistic health — from massage, relaxation, and infrared sauna therapy to beauty and skincare treatments — all delivered in a calm, welcoming, and professional environment. 🌸 Meet Carlie Aston – Beauty Therapist at Bodyworks Cullercoats Carlie’s journey into beauty therapy began while studying Hair and Beauty, where she discovered a deeper passion for the industry than she ever expected. She went on to complete her Level 2 and 3 Beauty Therapy qualifications, gaining hands-on experience in a wide range of treatments — from facials and massage to nails and eye packages. Alongside her studies, Carlie worked in a busy beauty salon for several years, where she honed her skills and developed a particular talent for brow shaping and tinting. Her true passion, however, lies in skincare. Driven by her love for helping clients feel confident in their own skin, Carlie has continued to expand her expertise, completing her Level 4 and 5 qualifications and is currently studying Level 6 in Advanced Skin Techniques at Newcastle College University Centre. Carlie combines her technical knowledge with a friendly and professional approach, ensuring every client leaves feeling relaxed, refreshed, and radiant.

Meet Bo Whittle – Beauty & Spa Therapist Bo is a passionate and dedicated beauty and spa therapist at Bodyworks Beauty & Spa in Cullercoats. With over four years of experience in the industry, Bo has worked in a range of salons and spas, gaining a wealth of knowledge and skill in delivering high-quality treatments. Her goal has always been to create a calm, relaxing experience where every client can truly switch off and feel pampered. Bo is fully qualified in Swedish massage, facials and electrical facials, waxing, tinting and eye packages, as well as gel nails, manicures, and pedicures. Whether you’re visiting for a soothing massage, a rejuvenating facial, or a beauty treatment, Bo’s caring approach and attention to detail ensure you leave feeling refreshed, confident, and completely relaxed. ✨
