The young girl at the spa reception was fantastic- and the massage was one of the best I have had, really good value will come again
I took my mother here for a spa day for her 80th birthday. We were greeted with a smile and a very good cup of coffee, which was a bonus, whilst we sat for a while and completed our choice of food for lunch and my mother booked an extra treatment of a manicure. I then headed to the gym which was clean and empty whilst my Mum had her manicure. She said it was lovely and she was very happy with the results. Lunch was a 2 course meal with prosecco. The salmon salad starter was lovely. I had the fish and chips as a main and unfortunately the fish was a bit tasteless and the chips were not triple fried, in fact, they weren't chips and I don't think they had even been near a fryer! but they were still nice. My mother had the steak, which she said was over cooked, and she was very disappointed with the potatoes so she mentioned it to the restaurant staff who apologized and immediately removed the surcharge for the steak. I would have to say that the customer service is excellent by all staff in the hotel and spa. Our massage was next and was fantastic. We both had a full body aromatherapy massage and it was sooooo relaxing and very professionally done. I don't think I've had a better one (and I've had quite a few!) Afterwards we went to the pool which is lovely. Very clean and a good temperature. The only let down here was the jacuzzi, as there was only 1 jet working so it was a bit like sitting in a hot bath. The reason I have dropped a star in the rating is that the facilities are clean but there was an issue with a leak in the toilets and the floor outside the changing rooms has some strange panels in it which move as you step on them which is very disconcerting. The lockers in the changing rooms also have dreadful locks on them which were proving a struggle for everyone and need to be changed asap. The hotel is lovely with a bright and tastefully furnished dining room, looking out onto a beautiful patio area where you could go and sit on a sunny day. The spa itself is not too hot, which is good and the robes that you can hire are light and cotton so do not smother you. All in all we had a fabulous day and I would not hesitate to go back again.
Excellent experience thank you
Nice ambiance, good treatment. Would be good if the therapists took a couple of minutes at the start to ask about any specific needs/ problem which I want them to focus on. Overall was good.
we came for my mums 65th birthday and had the best day. We were greeted very politely at the main reception and taken to have tea and coffee where everything was explained to us! we had a very relaxing morning followed by our massage first then facial both were excellent, and finished the day with afternoon tea which was absolutely beautiful! The only fault throughout whole day was our locker got stuck twice but the lady at the spa reception was very friendly and quickly came and sorted! Thankyou for making my mums birthday one to remember we shall definetly be returning!
