loved the whole experience. the massage was great however it could have lasted a little bit longer, i felt it was too short. i would not say that it was good value as it was dearer than a lot of the competitors however it was really special. the cost is the only reason why i wouldn't come back on a regular basis.
Fantastic massage...
I've visited before, but they have refurbed several areas very nicely. The pools look lovely, very inviting, (sadly i did not have time to use them this visit). I still think the pool side area is very small/narrow; that's the size of the building (not much they can do about that). Not really any room to lounge about pool side, there's some seating but if it got abit busier itd be totally full up. Didn't go into the steam/sauna rooms but all looked good. The treatment rooms have been done very nicely, spacious, relaxing, comfortable, just want you want. Find the beds a tiny bit narrow (for easily getting arms to stay on!) but i often do. The massage itself was pretty fantastic ('Drift away, 60 mins) she was very careful of my injury area, & adapted the type of massage to suit. It felt about 2 hours long! & I was very relaxed. It was also very nuturing, I could have slept for hours afterwards. She really does know what she is doing, not all therapists actually do, it does really vary enormously. I did develop shoulder ache later on disappointingly, (but i have a LOT of health issues & she did advise I needed another session soon). So i dont really think this is a reflection on the massage. The relaxation room has been done very nicely, & its a really pleasant, super relaxing space. I got a very nice small fruit/sweet treat after which is a nice touch. They didnt rush you at all, which is great. So a small spa, but very nice. Especially when staying at the hotel which has very good catering facilities, but i do thk it can stand alone aswell. I normally go to a much larger one with grounds etc, but I would do a spa day here again, (as I think though quite small, it could support several hours of visiting), mainly for the quality of the massage & the ambience. Also generally quite a nice location as you are very close to the sea front. Only one slight annoyance, about 3/4 of the way through some fairly loud music (radio?) could be heard in the treatment room coming thoug (notticible because it was otherwise very peaceful), which clashed with the spa music, which is annoying. As that really helps you relax. I dont know where it was coming from? Im sure they could easily fix that though...
My Spa day was very good, the facial ,drift away massage, and pedicure, were
all excellently and professionally done by Sandra, whom I would fully recommend to my friends, as I live locally this would be an advantage to the connaught. The lunch was also excellent, will come again to eat in the evening.
