I love my gel nails manicure BUT not my gel nails pedicure (the gel polish on my left toenails were good but the ones on the right were "matte" and looked like they were not fully cured and rubbed off at the final step. The reasons why I didn't see this right away are explained on my other comments below:
1. Cleanliness - The same machine is used for both hands and feet (eek). From working on my feet with the machine placed on the floor, she moved it up and used the same on my hands (to my horror). At that time, I managed a straight face and placed the cup of tea that they gave me away. The entire time that my toenails are being cleaned and painted with polish I was sat with my leg stretched out under the table to the nail technician's lap and so I could not see what was going on from her side. She asked me to try not to move my toes much and I did try but still found it hard since I couldn't see my nails from where I was. Also, during the time that I had to switch foot during the 'curing' process, my other bare foot will be placed on the floor with no cover or support. One time I looked and saw that there were hair, a full bunch of them (probably not swept or cleaned from previous appointments) and oh no, I felt much worse.
Ambience and staff - The staff I think have generally been lovely. However, I have observed in all my three appointments with blowLTD that they tend to reschedule appointments, sometimes at the last minute, i.e. morning of the appointment. At most times I have been flexible but I think blowLTD needs to sort this out jointly with the appointment system in Treatwell so that it does not inconvenience customers who may have specific availability and preferences.
I also want to mention that my first experience with blowLTD had really been outstanding - the nail technician was really good and the application of the gel polish for mani and pedi have been well done and proved to be long-lasting. Thus, I have given preference to blowLTD among other options in Treatwell. However, I have noticed that in my second appointment for the mani and now my third appointment for mani and pedi, that this expected precision and care in gel polish application have not been consistent -some of the gel polish flaked off after a few days on my second appointment; refer to my comments above for my third appointment. I've now realised that this could be down to the nail technician and I happened to be lucky in my first appointment. I hope that they can train their technicians better so that the overall experience and the finished product are consistently well done.
