On a positive side my stylist gave me useful tips on a treatment I could do at home. The rest of the experience was less positive.
To start with, the salon was underwhelming when I arrived. I was not even sure it was the right place. I knew it was going to be a high street hairdresser’s, but it had a complete barber shop vibe and did not even have the same name on the venue that is displayed on Treatwell.
There was other people’s hair on my gown and the surfaces did not look to have been wiped down properly in a few days. The equipment did not look up to date and none of the expected hair products were used to style my hair, apart from 2 or three spritzes of some tonic on my ends. Most of my haircut was done with a razor.
Now, I have thin hair and am sensitive about it being thinner than before. I had a length to about my shoulder blades when I came in. I asked for dry ends to be removed so that my hair would feel and look healthier, fuller and more lively.
I left with my hair barely reaching my shoulders, while being flat, dull and shapeless. In fact, the stylist brushed downwards while blow-drying my hair, which is opposite of what you need to do to give hair volume. Even after I asked to correct this, my hair was still flat and flatter than what I came in with - that took me 5 minutes in the morning.
Moreover, despite me saying I am uncomfortable about my hair becoming thinner recently, the stylist insisted on brushing it aggressively and I felt like I lost half my hair during the appointment. I kept being pulled by my hair and just feeling in pain throughout the hour I was there, even as she washed my hair she managed to pull at it so hard I could feel her ripping hair out from my scalp.
At the end of the appointment I left with a shapeless mop of short dull and flat hair, that is much shorter than I wanted and makes me look like my mum cut it with kitchen shears.
Writing this review right now I feel like crying, and felt like crying on my way back to work. This has been a wasted lunch hour and wasted £40.
Would not recommend.

Leine was friendly, listened to what I wanted and made sure I was happy with the cut and blow dry.
Venue is small but a central location and easy to find.
