Second time in a row that this venue cancel my booking 10 minutes before my appointment. They asked me to come 30 minutes later, which I did and the salon was empty. The man who cut my hair didn’t even apologise for anything, and was even grumpy at first. He cut my hair within 20 minutes, when I got home, I realised that he did a really bad job. Never going there again.
When I saw the design and ethos of Blo Bar (as well as the prices) I was expecting a really nice experience as well as a great hair cut. When I arrived, the salon was empty and I didn’t feel overly welcomed. The person cutting my hair made me feel like I was asking for a favour rather than being a valued first time customer - not really willing to listen to what I wanted, quite blunt and awkward. During the shampoo the water splatters on your face from both your own basin and the one next to you, the stylist was really rough and there was no head massage to make it a relaxing experience. The cut itself took 5 mins and was pretty average - I asked for a one length cut and still left with a curved shape and uneven fringe. Other small touches like offering magazines to read would be more in line with the style of the salon. The salon has a lot of potential but I think the staff and the end to end experience lets it down. It’s a shame because I wanted to find a local salon I could return to, unfortunately this won’t be it.
