I cannot recommend this salon enough! The team are very welcoming and professional, and give great advice regarding the best treatments for your needs. I've been really happy with my laser hair removal results, as well as micro-needling and HydraFacial. Thank you Amy & Amy.
I always book at Bellissima Beauty & Aesthetics Ltd for my waxing treatments. Luckily there was a cancellation so I could come in the same day. The staff are so friendly and professional and that is why I always comeback. The salon is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Amy gave me my most recent treatment (back and shoulder wax). Amy was professional and so friendly that made me so much at ease as always. I was more than very happy with my treatment at this beauty salon will continue to come here again. Highly recommend! I really hate to do this but unfortunately I've visited this salon three times and all three times I have come away, well, injured!
The first two times I had my eyebrows waxed and had extremely sore skin lifting, which I've never had before and have been having my eyebrows waxed for years. It was very painful when the waxing was happening which I thought was weird, but then the skin lifting afterwards was super sore. I reached out and the salon said this could be due to the fact that I use Rosehip Oil on my face (rosehip oil contains very mild natural retinol) which I accepted as a possible cause (despite it never having happened before) and they did kindly offer my next brow session for free, trying a different wax. So I booked this in, but in the meantime had scheduled a gel manicure for my hen weekend... and following this I have literally been wiping blood from my nails where my cuticles were cut so badly (see photos)... It was sore while the therapist was doing my nails and it was obvious they were bleeding, but there was no apology and no effort to sanitise the cuts (which I'm hoping now will not get infected - they're already quite puffy and sore the next day).
I'll sadly be cancelling my next appointment (which was due to happen before my wedding) as I simply can't risk coming away with yet more skin damage... Not something you want to happen when you go to a salon!
An edit based on the salon's response:
- I did let the salon know about the issues and replied to the email reaching out to discuss my concerns on 21st August and provided my availability for someone to call me but received no further reply.
- Having "dry" cuticles does not cause them to bleed during a manicure, this response does not give me confidence in the knowledge of the salon... A simple Google can tell you, "bleeding cuticles at a nail salon can be caused by: overzealous cuticle cutting, rough filing, Improper tool use, cutting too close to the nail bed." I have never had bleeding cuticles from a manicure before now.
- Although the technician mentioned in passing that she thought my cuticles were a little dry, she did not mention this in relation to the bleeding (probably because it is not a good reason for making my cuticles bleed) and in fact, she did not mention the bleeding at all. I have had my nails done many times, have my own cuticle oils and am fully aware of the condition of my nails, this issue has never occured until now.
- I did not report the damage from my first eyebrow treatment, as I thought it was a one off error, I mentioned it the second time because by that point I realised that something must be going wrong. I have never had this issue before and regularly get my eyebrows waxed.
I think the fact that all these injuries from my treatments at this salon are deemed my fault (products I use (Rosehip Oil) , "dryness" of my cuticles) tells you all you need to know. 🙃
My waxing experience has always been as pleasant as can be. Amy has always made me feel instantly comfortable, a lovely salon with a professional service. I would definitely recommend!
Bellissima is great, never go anywhere else for my waxing! Amy is thorough and efficient. Any other treatments I have had there have also always been excellent! Amy and the team are super friendly and I'd never hesitate to book there for any of my beauty/aesthetic treatments!
