I really wanted to love this place because of all the raving reviews on Treatwell!! But I would not recommend getting your Dermalogica facials here, especially if you had good ones before.
Firstly, the venue was not as clean and big as was shown in the photos. The beautician was not wearing a uniform (its normally cleaner to wear scrubs instead of your "outside clothing" when doing facials). Dermalogica facials include in depth facial mapping under a light and magnifier, I had none of this. She took one look at my skin from a distance and decided on a standard treatment regimen. The treatment itself was quite rough, my skin was sore and she did extractions using a metal extraction tool. I could tell she had not been properly trained. At some point, she left me on the table with a mask on for 15 mins and went to help another client with (what I overheard) was a bikini wax before coming back to me. I appreciate that she washed her hands before tending to my facial again, but I thought this was quite unprofessional. Finally, she ended the facial by slathering my skin in a thick layer of moisturiser and telling me to "let it soak into the skin" to try to soothe my face. I've waited a day to write this review just to give the benefit of the doubt and to see how my skin would react; its inflamed, scabbed, and angry!
Sounds like this salon is great for bikini waxes, but if you're used to the high standard of a proper Dermalogica facial, I'd recommend paying more and going elsewhere.
