I was moved salon to their sister salon down the road. It was really run down (cracks in the plaster board, one of the hair wash sinks was broken, peeling wallpaper, old looking plug sockets etc). When getting my hair washed the hairdressers were making their tea and coffee and lunches in the same area and at one point hanging out their wet towels from the washing machine on the line. It was such an unrelaxing / unluxury experience because there was no atmosphere and I spent so much of my time essentially in their kitchen.
It was really cold (they had the door open) and the music on the radio was so quiet you couldn’t hear it which was really boring when you’re in there for a long treatment, and again meant there was no atmosphere.
I was there for 6 hours but only offered 1 drink and I had to ask for it.
The actual treatment is okay- the hairdressser was nice so I wouldn’t want to complain about it but it wasn’t great and I really don’t feel like they are actual balayage experts, despite the name of the salon. Feels like they called it that when balayage became a thing but they’ve just got hairdressers, not people experts at that in particular.
