Bailiffscourt Spa at Bailiffscourt Hotel part of Historic Sussex Hotels

One of the most luxurious spas in the south of England, Bailiffscourt Spa was purpose-built to provide the finest contemporary health and relaxation facilities in stunning surroundings.

Built in the style of a Sussex barn with a dramatic exposed timber frame, the spa has received a prestigious design award for its architecture. The interior style and decor look to nature for inspiration with the contrasting textures of polished limestone and natural green oak, and expansive windows bringing the outdoors in to the beautiful indoor pool area.

The superb facilities include a state-of-the-art gym, outdoor pool and tennis courts, relaxation areas and calming treatment rooms, where our highly experienced therapists offer a wide range of body and beauty treatments using acclaimed Temple Spa products.

For the first time Historic Sussex Hotels have been included in the London Stock Exchanges landmark 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain report. What does this mean? It is a report produced annually to showcase the UKs most inspiring and fast growing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). To be selected for the list, businesses must demonstrate positive growth in revenue over the last four years and also significantly outperform their sector peers. The list, of 1000 companies, includes only two other hotels. Historic Sussex Hotels is one of only 148 companies on the list from the South East.

The whole experience was fabulous from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who made us feel exceptionally welcome and went the extra mile getting us prosecco and scones when we were famished, despite the kitchen having already closed! The spa is beautiful and was quiet during the 2 weekdays we stayed. I particularly enjoyed swimming in the deliciously warm outdoor pool while it was raining!! The two meals we had during our stay - a 3 course dinner with wine flight, and buffet breakfast, were also outstanding, and the dinner was honestly one of the best meals and overall dining experiences I've ever had. I would recommend a stay at Bailiffscourt to anyone.

Beautiful place, we will certainly come back! But the bed was not so comfortable.

Beautiful grounds, lovely staff, great spa facilities. Only criticism is that we couldn't get loungers on our seconds afternoon as it was too busy.

The spa facilities are lovely with indoor and outdoor pool and also an outside hot tub. We received a free juice on arrival which was brought to us whilst we were in the hot tub - a lovely touch. Unfortunately the changing rooms are quite small and cramped. There were several members using them when we were there. In addition the shampoo dispenser did not work and there was nowhere to hang our robe in the toilet. Treatment was lovely and there is a (slightly chilly) relaxation area. In addition there is a sunny lounge with complementary tea and coffee.

Enjoyable night stay. Massage was best ever had staff pleasant and friendly. Good and service was great.
Only draw back was pool was busy and my wife is pregnant and there were not enough sun loungers by the pool. If wasn't as many people and as busy would have been more enjoyable experience.

Lovely place. Steeped in history. Very relaxing. Gym a little small and wasn't made aware of any classes which I would like to attend next time. Full body scrub was lovely.
File and paint at £30 is quite pricy but had anyway . At breakfast the waitress had to get help as she didn't understand when I asked her for my tea ( it still hadn't arrived by the time I got served with the hot food) Thought tea was tea in most languages! But I'll def be back and have told lots of people to go! Thankyou.

Fantastic setting, fantastic spa but what really made our day so special was the professional yet friendly and welcoming attitude of all the staff we encountered.

Lovely grounds, quite, nice olde wordly place. Something different and quirky with several small lounges with comfy sofas and chairs and log fires. Food was very good in a nice restaurant with proper tablecloths and napkins and lovely china, locally sourced food, loved the full English Breakfast. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. The Spa was nice too, only had a express manicure which was fine. The bedroom had tea and coffee facilities and cookies! also morning newspaper delivered. Unfortunately the room we stayed in didn't have a plug by the mirror so was not easy styling one's hair! Would recommend for short stay break, would return.

Fantastic day! Although my only comment is that the 'pedicure' was just a nail polish. Still very nice though and massage and facial were lovely!

This is a really lovely original place, and right by the sea. Lots of atmosphere, and a lovely spa centre. Spa was very clean with very friendly and helpful staff. I am coeliac and they have a good understanding of gluten-free needs, although the "allergens" menu needs an update. The rooms are spread across a number of beautiful buildings. It is a little on the pricey side, but a day feels like a week of relaxation here.
Dogs are very welcome across almost the entire place, it seems it is just as relaxing for them as for people.

I had a Indian head massage. The facilities are lovely; really amazing especially in the summer. I would go back anyway!

Wonderful weekend away in a beautiful place. Overall we had a perfect stay and wish it was longer than one night. The only thing I thought could have been better for the price was the food. It was good food but not worth the amount they are asking.
