I don’t normally write reviews unless the service is truly outstanding but I have to say the Athenaeum really delivered The treatments we had were exceptional and the staff were professional, friendly and most importantly masters in their own field delivering what I believe to be one of the better facials I’ve ever had. Truly amazing and a first class experience. Coupled with the relaxing spa area and a cream tea with freshly baked scones, I have already booked my return trip!

We booked the spa for a birthday treat, it was fabulous and very relaxing. We also had a cream tea at the hotel afterwards which was delicious.

Although small, the venue was calm and tranquil. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The treatments, atmosphere and facilities were exceptional. The beauty therapists had great knowledge of the treatments and were truly professional. The only criticism of the day was during our afternoon tea - the waitress refused to take off the service charge from the bill (which I think is not legal…?).
