My experience started with reception: the salon was very busy and they don’t have a proper waiting area. I was met with long, unhappy faces. The receptionist asked for my name twice, and my full reference number - like the name wasn’t enough?? Anyhow, after a short wait I was shown into a tiny room - with nowhere to put my clothes on. The bed was covered in a plastic sheet (god knows when it was cleaned last..!) and the usual white paper towel (that obviously got torn in about 10 seconds). They provided nothing to cover myself up with to wait for the therapist after I undressed for a Hollywood. To make it worse, the room’s door opens into the main area of the salon so when the therapist came in my nether regions were exposed to people in view. While I was waiting for her to arrive I took a glance at the wax: the pallets have barely melted. I didn’t think this was a very good sign.
The therapist’s first question was whether I wanted normal or hot wax??!! As it’s a prepaid treatment and hot wax costs much more, I was a bit taken aback by the question! She then went on to ask if this was my first time - like she wouldn’t be able to tell that by the thin, weak hair down there. I think it was definitely her first though: she completely forgot to apply the oil before the wax and when she started yanking at the applied wax she had no clue while it was not coming off. Between application and tearing, she helpfully rested her hand on my knee - like
Lying there in the “reclined goddess” position wasn’t uncomfortable enough and I needed extra pressure...!
At the end, to do the bottom bit, instead of the usual “lifting my knees up” or “turning on my side” she asked me to turn around completely and lie on my tummy. I glanced down to the smear of wax on the paper towel she just asked me to lie in and gently folded it over. She didn’t say a word.
When she was done she applied very little amount of soothing cream, considered it done and left the room without saying anything. I glanced down to my raw, very sore nether regions to see bits of hair sticking out and bits of wax being left on.
I will not be returning to this place. If not for the “no refunds” sign at their reception (very encouraging...!!) I would be demanding a refund. I’m just hoping I didn’t pick anything up from the manky bed or the sniffling therapist before going on holiday.
I would suggest avoiding this place at all costs.
I wasn't even greeted on entering the salon and then when I enquired about my appointment I was treated with absolutely no respect by a very surly, unpleasant woman. The atmosphere was very unwelcoming and I couldn't wait for the treatment to end.
The girl who did the treatment was very good and I would highly recommend her, but I go to a salon as a treat and do not expect to walk into such a toxic environment. Would definitely not recommend.
