I regularly have treatments at Amela. In addition to manicures and beauty treatments I recently had a tanning session. I came out of Amela’s with a lovely glow. I cannot recommend strongly enough as the perfect pick me up in our miserable weather. Totally professional and really quite lovely. I look like I’ve been in the Bahamas
The salon called me beforehand to warn me that the application was “manual”. What I thought this meant was I would be standing and I would be sprayed manually with a tanning gun. I was wrong. I was lying down whilst supermarket-bought St Tropez tanning mousse was slathered on me whilst laying on a table with rubber gloves. This has caused a pretty streaky application since 1) a brush should have been used on my hands and feet (as I would if I did this at home) and 2) there’s no drying process.
Treatment by Tania•Spray Tanning and Sunless Tanning
Tania was lovely and friendly however what I got was a normal massage, not a lymphatic drainage massage. Most focus was on my back, hardly any on my stomach. None of the movements I expect from lymphatic drainage. Very gentle and relaxing, just not what I was after. Also noticed the massage finished at 11:20am, which I did pay for 10:30-11:30, so finished around 10 mins early. All massages I’ve had in the past finish on the dot to what I pay for. Given the price I did expect better overall.
