Finding My True Calling in the Beauty Industry
If someone had told me over 20 years ago that I would one day own a beauty salon and find my greatest joy in builder gel and hand-painted nails, I’m not sure I would have believed them. Back then, my heart wasn’t in nails—but it was always in art.
I’ve always loved creating. Drawing, designing, anything where I could express myself through my hands. I even went to university to study sociology, hoping it would lead me to a meaningful path. But deep down, I knew something was missing. I wasn’t meant to sit behind a desk or follow a traditional route. I needed to do something that would feed my creativity—and my soul.
That’s when I found my way into the beauty industry. At first, it was just a new direction… but quickly, it became clear that I was exactly where I was meant to be. Working with clients, creating tiny works of art on their nails, transforming how they feel about themselves—it was the perfect mix of creativity and care. I often say I’m not just a beauty therapist—I’m a bit of a psychologist too! Listening, connecting, and helping people feel seen and beautiful is such a special part of what I do.
Believe it or not, I’ve been working with builder gel for over two decades—long before gel polish became the trend it is today. Yes, that’s right—builder gels were around before gel polish even existed! It’s incredible to look back and see how the industry has evolved—and how my love for it has only grown stronger with time.
Today, nothing makes me happier than stepping into my salon. It’s not just a place of work—it’s a space filled with joy, connection, and creativity. It’s where I belong.
