As much, as I'd like to say something positive about my experience it is really challenging. I guess the only positive part was that the staff was nice, yet they were trying to make me have mani and pedi at the same time and insisted on twisting my arm in a very uncomfortable position in order to do that. By all means, that wasn't a spa experience.
In addition, they almost did not remove the dead skin from my heels so it feels like no pedi was done even though they do charge quite a lot for a classic gel pedi. Manicure was done better, and the nail polish still holds, while it actually already fell from two of my toes. Definitely won't come back.
The salon emailed me 40 minutes before the appointment to say they were moving it back 15 minutes which was quite annoying as I had arranged to meet a friend afterwards however I arrived at the original appointment time and was seen straight away so I don't know if that was a bug in the computer system or someone else had cancelled or something. The woman who waxed me was friendly and chatty but not as thorough as I would have liked and I had to ask her to do more after she had initially finished. The temperature of the wax was too hot at times and the next day I had two burn marks which although they weren't sore, looked awful and were not the best start to a romantic weekend away. I may have to go back to this spa at short notice as it is the closest one to where I work but it would certainly not be my first choice.
The pregnancy massage was fantastic! The masseuse was very knowledgeable about comfortable positioning and targeting key areas and was really friendly- putting me at total ease. My partner had a Swedish massage at the same time that blended a mixture of Thai and Swedish movements. Would highly recommend both.
