Several of our amazing Treatwell team are taking part in Movember – a fantastic charity that raises money for men’s issues, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, suicide awareness, and men’s mental health issues.
The rules? Start the month with a clean-shaven face, and grow a moustache for the whole of November. It’s pretty simple, but a great way to raise awareness for the charity, and for the vital causes that Movember supports. These issues face so many men, but there still exists a huge stigma around them, and a lot of men don’t feel comfortable talking about the health issues that they may be facing.
Movember hopes to put these issues into the spotlight, and open up the conversation. It also raises money for charities that give substantial support to those suffering from any of those issues. Read more about the community here.
We’re super proud of our team for taking part and for helping such a great cause, and we can’t wait to see how their ‘taches turn out. We’ll be updating their progress over the month, so stay tuned and watch this space…
Meet the team below, and find out why they’re taking part. If you’d like to donate, you can also do so here. Here’s to a great Movember! ?

1 Hervé - Director of Operations, BarcelonaWhy are you taking part in Movember?
'You never know if one day you will be directly affected by one of these diseases or issues, and statistically it’s pretty likely. Today I have the power to make a difference. Shaving my beard and looking different will be temporary – but the devastating effects of cancer or mental illness can be for life. I think it’s great to be able to do our bit and raise awareness.'
Is there a particular moustache style you'd like to try out?
'See my hair today? Imagine my moustache tomorrow… ?' (hint: we’re thinking/ hoping that means something in bleach blonde? ?)

2 Nick - Talent Partner, LondonWhy are you taking part in Movember?
'I’m taking part in Movember this year as it’s such a great cause, and a really fun way to raise awareness around men’s issues. There’s a huge amount of stigma around the four main causes that Movember supports, and a lot of men just don’t feel able to talk about these issues with friends, family, or health specialists. So many men suffer in silence because of this, so it’s so important to raise awareness and get people talking about these issues – Movember is a great way to get that message out there. Hopefully we’ll be able to raise some money and awareness for a fab cause, even if it does mean looking a little strange for a while. ?'

'I’ve never had a moustache before, so honestly this is all a bit new to me. I’ve always been a big Dali fan, so would love to be able to pull off a moustache like him – but I think that may be a bit tricky to fit under my mask on the tube… so maybe I’ll go for a more classic handlebar or chevron style. ?'

3 Koray - Account Manager, BerlinWhy are you taking part in Movember?
'I think Movember is a fun way to raise awareness about serious diseases & conditions. A lot of people underestimate the suffering caused by cancer, not only to those diagnosed with the disease, but to a whole family who also suffer through the tragedy. I also think that men’s mental health is not spoken about enough – men very often neglect their mental health, and time and again it can be too late to receive treatment. So many of us will be affected by these issues in our lifetime, so I think creating and spreading awareness is really positive – and it’s great to be able to do it in a fun and engaging way.'
Is there a particular moustache style you'd like to try out?
'I’ve always been a big Charlie Chaplin fan, but his moustache is pretty questionable, so I’d love to try something like a Fu Manchu style of ‘tache. The crazier the better to get people talking! ?'
FAQs
What is Movember and why do people take part?
Movember is a charity event where people grow a moustache during November to raise money and awareness for men’s health issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, suicide awareness, and mental health. Participants start with a clean-shaven face and use the month as a way to get people talking about these important topics.
How do you participate in Movember?
You participate by starting November clean-shaven and growing a moustache for the month. The aim is to spark conversations and help raise funds for men’s health causes while visibly supporting the movement by changing your look.
What causes does Movember support?
Movember supports four main men’s health causes: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, suicide awareness, and men’s mental health. These issues often carry stigma, and the campaign aims to bring them into the spotlight and encourage open conversations.
Why is raising awareness about men’s health issues important?
Raising awareness is important because many men don’t feel comfortable talking about their health or mental wellbeing due to social stigma. Increasing awareness helps reduce this stigma and encourages men to seek help or start conversations earlier, potentially saving lives.
How can you donate to Movember or support someone taking part?
You can donate directly to individuals or teams participating in Movember by visiting their donation links. Every contribution helps fund charities and support services for those affected by men’s health challenges.
