This premier clinic offers treatments from super-science brand Environ meaning Akina has got your every skin issue covered. Deep-cleansing, resurfacing and lifting facials are all catered for here but, that's not our favourite thing about this place. A little unsavoury but totally satisfying, their whitehead removal treatment is the stuff of legend. Believe us. We sheepishly arrived with a face full of pimples and left with clearer, smoother skin – and a big grin on our faces, so lovely and warm are the staff. Perfect for giving your skin a bit of an overhaul.

Best for: Dermalogica facials
If you’re the kind of person who’s a bit dotty over anything retro, you’ll love this vintage-feel clinic. With lots of luxurious touches and beautiful interiors, you’ll feel almost like you’ve stepped back in time to the ‘50s. And of course – Primp & Pamper by name, primp and pamper by nature. All of their treatments are a real indulgence, but pack a serious punch. Using Dermalogica products, the charming staff are able to tackle any skin woes, offering everything from customised facials to calming treatments. A great summer pick? This gorgeous salon is tucked away in Beaumount, and is a little oasis of calm. As soon as you walk into Beautify, you’re greeted by the smell of beauty – and by that, we mean that lovely mix of candles and products you can’t quite put your finger on. It’d be rude not to take a quiet Instagram snap of the hot pink nail art wall, but don’t dawdle too long – your skin makeover awaits. The Dermalogica facials are just what you need for selfie-ready skin – we left feeling like we didn’t need a lick of makeup. Although if you're heading out for a night on the Dublin tiles, we suggest you book in for a touch of glam with their resident make-up artist.

Best for: a high tech facial
Slap bang in the middle of Dublin, this spa and laser clinic is perfect for city slickers. Been pounding the pavements shopping or pounding your keyboard at work? Take yourself to Oasis to get your skin back on track – trust us, your complexion will thank you. All the treatments are excellent, but we plumped for their combo deal – microdermabrasion, plus an algae mask and hand massage = total heaven. With squeaky-clean pores and new-found sense of zen, we floated out back into the city.
