Oscars 2021: our fave hair and beauty looks

Published on 26 April 2021 - Last updated on 19 December 2025 by Beth Ryan

This awards season has been a *tad* unusual – we think that’s fair to say. However, last night’s Oscars treated us to an IRL (!!!) red carpet moment, and boy, was it worth the wait. From Andra Day’s oh-so ‘no-makeup’ makeup, to Amanda Seyfried’s classic Hollywood glam –  here are our fave hair and beauty looks from the latest Academy Awards.

    1 Amanda Seyfried

Show us something that screams ‘Old Hollywood glam’ more than Amanda Seyfried’s deep side part, sleek wave, and lush red lip. We’ll wait.

    2 Celeste Waite

Tiktok’s affirmation that middle-parts are the way forward might just have been proven once and for all with Celeste Waite’s incredible mid-parted afro. Paired with plenty of blush (another standout trend for 2021) and a bold red lip? Yes please.

    3 Zendaya

Zendaya looked dreamy as ever with glowy makeup and pink toned lips, and her long wavy locks gave us major hair envy.

    4 Chloé Zhao

Nomadland director Chloé Zhao showed us the meaning of beautiful simplicity with her natural look and effortlessly cool braids.

    5 Andra Day

Andra Day’s subtle makeup look glowed alongside her gold chain-mail gown, and her curly fringe and updo topped the look off perfectly.

    6 Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie paired glowy natural makeup and a beachy-textured low pony with her (newly debuted) bangs. Gorj.

    7 HER

HER’s purple look was extra in the best way possible. The super long locks, the tonal purple palette, and the colourful graphic liner? Stunn-ing.

    8 Vanessa Kirby

Vanessa Kirby rocked our fave sleek bun to show off a perfectly contoured makeup look, paired with dramatic brows and a powerful dark red lip.

    9 Halle Berry

Halle Berry with a sharp, choppy bob, and equally choppy baby bangs? Two words: seriously cool.
