The 6 beauty treatments editors have for fashion week

18 August 2016 by Beth Ryan

It’s chicest time of the year. The fashion pack are out in full force to see the next season’s hottest trends – and to be seen, of course. Between all the front-row selfies and paps circling outside the big-ticket presentations, editors are on show as much as the clothes and models are. With an international gauntlet to run (Fashion Week kicks off in New York, before running on to London, Milan and Paris), the fash squad are short on sleep and time when it comes to preening. What’s an editor-in-chief to do? Book in for a long-lasting, time-saving beauty treatment of course – here’s eight the editors swear by come Fashion Month…

By Daniela Morosini

  • 1 The collagen wave facial

    Best for: snapchat ready skin

When fashion’s elite need to look fabulous in a flash, they call upon the Collagen Wave by High Definition. Available exclusively at their beauty boutiques, it uses radio frequency to tighten and plump your skin, you can expect firmer, brighter and all-around more rejuvenated skin after just one session. All those radio waves kick-start your skin’s collagen production, which makes for a more rested, youthful complexion. With no downtime or injectables, it’s the perfect treatment for girls on the go.

  • 2 Keratin blow dry

Best for: fighting frizz on the 'frow'

With a circuit spanning four countries, one needs to be prepared for a slew of different climate conditions. Between humidity in New York, rain in London, sizzling heat in Milano and windswept Paris, it’s safe to say that your hair will take a little bit of a beating. The solution? Invest in a smoothing Keratin blow dry. The long-lasting treatment infuses the hair with nourishing protein that helps fight frizz and cut down styling time – without weighing the hair down. Now that’s what we call climate control.

  • 3 LVL lash lift

    Best for: tired eyes

The fashion pack sure love to party – what’s Fashion Week without a few raucous after-show parties at Les Bains or The Standard? But all that partying – and international jetsetting – can make for some tired peepers. The solution? LVL Lashes is a semi-permanent lash lift that’ll see your lashes lengthened and curled, thanks to a clever tint-and-lift process. Your eyes will look more open and awake, without a lick of mascara or the touch of a lash curler. Jet lag? What jet lag?

  • 4 A long-wearing Shellac manicure

Best for: social media-proof nail colour

All that tap, tap, tapping on your iPhone screen as you Instagram, Snapchat and Periscope your favourite shows can put some serious pressure on your nails. But heaven forfend a chip appear on your mani – that’s where Shellac steps into the spotlight. This long-lasting polish is ‘cured’ (aka, set in place) with a special UV light that’ll protect against chips for up to two weeks.

  • 5 St Tropez spray tan

    Best for: a fashion glow

One thing that never goes out of style is a healthy glow. Whether you fancy a deep bronze or just a sunkissed tint, spray tanning is a must before hitting the style circuit. Not only will it bring a little bit of colour to worn-out complexions, but it’ll stop you looking washed out in photos. Plus, you can get away with wearing less makeup when you’ve got a bit of a bronze on – meaning you’ll clear security at the airport that little bit quicker without all the frantic decanting. The fash pack love St Tropez for the subtle, sunkiss it leaves on their skin. We agree.

  • 6 HD brows

    Best for: looking perma-groomed

Sunglasses are de rigeur at Fashion Week, even indoors (see aforementioned partying point). With the only thing peeking out from behind being your brows, you’ll want them to be looking on point. Enter HD Brows – an exhaustive seven-step process that shapes and tints your brows to perfection. Involving plucking, threading and trimming, plus a bespoke tinting and filling-in process, you’ll be left with naturally fuller-looking, more defined brows for up to 4 weeks. If they do nothing else they do this…
